Ingredients
For the Shrimp
- 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Oil for frying
For the Bang Bang Sauce
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
- 1 tsp sriracha (adjust to taste)
- 1 tsp lime juice
For the Tacos
- 8 small flour or corn tortillas
- Shredded lettuce
- Diced tomatoes
- Chopped green onions
- Lime wedges for serving
Instructions
- Prepare the Shrimp:
- In a bowl, mix cornstarch, flour, paprika, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.
- Coat the shrimp in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess.
- Fry the Shrimp:
- Heat oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat.
- Once hot, add the coated shrimp in batches and fry until golden brown and cooked through (approximately 2-3 minutes per side).
- Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
- Make the Bang Bang Sauce:
- In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, and lime juice. Mix until smooth.
- Assemble the Tacos:
- Warm the tortillas in a skillet or microwave.
- Place a layer of shredded lettuce on each tortilla, followed by the fried shrimp.
- Drizzle with Bang Bang sauce and top with diced tomatoes and green onions.
- Serve:
- Serve immediately with lime wedges on the side.
