Classic Cheeseburger Recipe
Ingredients
- For the Burger:
- 1 lb ground beef (80/20 for the best flavor)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 slices of American or cheddar cheese
- 4 hamburger buns
- Lettuce leaves
- Tomato slices
- Onion slices
- Pickles (optional)
- For the Special Sauce:
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tbsp mustard
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Prepare the Special Sauce:
- In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix well and season with salt and pepper. Set aside.
- Form the Patties:
- Divide the ground beef into four equal portions and gently shape them into patties. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent them from puffing during cooking. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
- Cook the Patties:
- Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 3-4 minutes on one side. Flip the burgers and place a slice of cheese on top of each patty. Continue cooking for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the burger reaches your desired doneness.
- Toast the Buns:
- While the burgers are cooking, cut the buns in half and lightly toast them on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.
- Assemble the Cheeseburgers:
- Spread a generous amount of special sauce on the bottom half of each toasted bun. Add the lettuce, followed by the cooked burger patty with melted cheese. Top with tomato slices, onion slices, and pickles, if desired. Finish with the top half of the bun.
- Serve:
- Enjoy your delicious cheeseburgers with your favorite side, such as fries or a salad.
Tips
- For extra flavor, consider adding toppings like bacon, avocado, or jalapeƱos.
- Experiment with different types of cheese for a unique twist on the classic cheeseburger.
Enjoy your homemade cheeseburgers!
